Roby, a 45-year-old young man was working as a collection agent in a reputed bank, when tragedy struck in the form of liver disease. He has been suffering from chronic liver disease with portal hypertension for the past 2 years, and has to undergo liver transplantation at the earliest. The hospital has estimated Rs. 40 lakhs including surgery and post-surgical follow up.
Roby is living with his mother, aged 81, a pensioner; and his wife, who is working as a lab technician in a hospital nearby. He has 2 young children aged 14 and 9 years. The family has no means of raising Rs. 40 lakhs required for treatment. They collected Rs. 15.15 lakhs through a public campaign, of which Rs. 10 lakhs is already deposited at the hospital as advance. They approached MicroCharity through our volunteers, for financial support.
