Help for a struggling family

With some difficulty, they started building a small house in his land. That is when disaster struck, with George gradually loosing his eye sight. As he was the sole bread winner of the family, they had to stop construction and also the elder girl’s studies. Hearing about their situation, the headmaster of the local school, St Marys school, Thekkemala collected funds amounting to Rs. 35,000 from PTA, church and other well-wishers. This amount was used for the first part of his treatment at Sree Dhariyam Eye Hospital, Koothattukulam. But now they do not have any money for the rest of the treatment, school fees for their children and even for their daily household expenses.
The house that was constructed partially is also on the verge of collapsing. Currently they are surviving with help from others, buying ration wheat for all three meals. MicroCharity came to know of this cause through one of our volunteers and decided to help with the house, treatment and education for the older girl. The elder girl has recently joined Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha for her Masters degree. Her monthly fee is Rs.3,000 including hostel fees.

His elder daughter is doing well in her studies. She has scored an overall ‘A Grade’ in the first year. MicroCharity is supporting her with college fee of Rs. 33,000 for the second year.
