Moly, from Idukki is suffering from brain tumor and needs medicines worth Rs.4,000 a month and an additional Rs.15,000 every 2 years for a routine scan. Moly’s husband is an auto-driver and earns a meager Rs.300/day, since he rides a rented auto rickshaw. The couple has 2 daughters. The elder daughter completed 10th standard, but did not pursue further studies due to financial difficulties at home. The younger daughter is now in 10th standard, but is intellectually challenged and might not be able to continue further.

Moly is undergoing treatment at Kottayam medical college, and gets medicines at a subsidized rate due to their poverty. They have already borrowed money from prayer groups and neighbours, but it’s difficult to sustain the level of support since it’s a recurring expense. They approached MicroCharity for financial assistance in Moly’s treatment.
