His wife was retired as an employee at a cashew factory, and is earning a monthly pension of Rs. 2500. John is very keen on getting a prosthetic leg fitted, so that he can earn a living and support his family. They enquired at an Artificial Limb Center and came to know that prosthetic legs cost between Rs. 60,000 to 12 lakhs.
The family has very little regular income, and is in no position to buy this artificial leg for John. So they approached MicroCharity for financial assistance.
John had been suffering from varicose veins on his legs for the past 2 years. In May 2021, there was a serious infection, post which the doctors had to amputate 70 cm of his left leg. He used to sell fish from his two-wheeler before the surgery, but is unable to work now.
Anjitha joined college paying Rs.35,000, the bare minimum needed for admissions. Her 1st year exam is in August, and she needs to pay the full fee of Rs. 1.5 lakhs to attend the examinations.
The family is struggling to raise money during this time of the pandemic, when jobs are difficult to come by. They approached MicroCharity for financial assistance.

Anjitha from Mundakkayam, Kerala is doing her 1st year BSc Nursing course in a Nursing school in Bangalore. Her father is a daily wage laborer and mother works as a contract employee, neither of them having regular work. Her sister Anjaly is a student. The family has barely enough income to sustain their daily expenses.
Devadasan has been in the hospital for 20 days following surgery and is currently too weak, for them to start chemotherapy. Doctors are waiting for his health to improve before deciding on further treatment. Total expenses have already crossed Rs. 1.35 lakhs, Rs. 1.1 lakhs for the treatment and Rs. 25,000 for medicines.
His wife does small jobs as part of the Kerala government’s ‘thozilurappu’ scheme, earning very little each month. Devadasan was also taking care of his bed-ridden and paralyzed 46-year-old younger brother, and also his sister who stays in the same house to take care of the younger brother. The family has more burdens than they can carry, and with Devadasan falling ill, they have no other source of income.

He had a surgery for ulcer about 5 years back and was working as a welder at a very small income when tragedy struck. 6 months back, he fell ill and was taken to the hospital. Doctors diagnosed cancer of the stomach and intestines. They recommended a jejunotomy surgery, which was completed immediately at P K DAS Institute of Medical Sciences, Vaniamkulam.

Ann Merry needs our help in starting her BSc Nursing course at a college in Coimbatore. Her father, Robert is an auto-driver who hires an auto on daily rent, earning about Rs. 6,000 per month. Her mother was working as an assistant at a hospital. But she had to leave that job to look after her bed-ridden mother and father-in-law.
Robert is living in their ancestral house, which is part-owned by his brothers and sisters. He approached many banks for an education loan for Ann Merry’s studies, but he was refused since he does not have any property in his name.
The family also has other loans to pay off, and they are in no position to fund Ann Merry’s education. They approached MicroCharity for financial assistance.

Guruchith, an 8 year old boy is suffering from a very rare degenerative progressive life threatening neuromuscular disease – Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Guruchith is son of Ajikesh P, a member of Vijayee Bhava Batch 9(VB9).
They are now struggling to pay the 10th standard fee for Aleena, which comes to INR 34,000. Since they don’t have any other source of income, the family approached MicroCharity for financial assistance.

Aleena’s father, Tomy was running a restaurant in Chennai, which closed down recently due to Covid. During the same time, his mother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer, and the family had to spend a lot of money on her treatment.
Her sister, Maria Monica is doing her second year Engineering course. Priyanka is studying in 8th standard in a school in Bangalore, and doing well in her studies.
The family has no means to pay Priyanka’s school fee, and she approached MicroCharity for financial assistance. Her total fee for this year comes to Rs. 50,000, out of which they have managed to pay Rs. 10,000. We are glad to help this smart little girl study well and achieve her dreams.
