Sanjoe Bhavan is a home for orphans and street children from the surrounding slums at J P Nagar, Bangalore, India. Sisters of the Destitute congregation are running Sanjoe Bhavan, taking care of these children – their accomodation, food, education, and other daily needs.
DeMatha English Medium School is a school in the tribal area of Kamrup district in Assam, run by the Trinitarians, priests belonging to The Order of the Most Holy Trinity. Most of the students are from the surrounding villages, which are economically backward areas. The villagers earn their income from cattle rearing and daily wage work, and are not keen on sending their children to school.
Thresha, a 20-year old degree student is going through a very difficult time. She had a brain surgery 7 months back, but now the doctors are prescribing a cranioplasty to repair a defect in the skull. The involves inserting a titanium mesh to form the contour of the skull after lifting the scalp. She is currently suffering from CVT cerebral venous thrombosis or clots in the brain, and also paralysis on the right hand as well as leg.

Twin sisters, Jeraldina and Jeromina’s story is not different from many lower income families in Bangalore, India. Their dad Sesu Raj, the sole bread winner of the family makes about Rs.200 per day working as an auto driver. But he is a chronic alcoholic and does not go to work regularly. The family is now struggling to get the kids to school. The little girls are in 1st standard and at a risk of not going to school at all, due to their financial difficulties. They have other loans to pay off and also a monthly rent of Rs.1500 for the house they are staying in.
Sinomon had been undergoing 3 dialysis sessions per week for past few years. Doctors have recommended kidney transplantation as the only solution. They have found a donor, and the transplantation surgery is scheduled for May 17th, 2022. The total cost for surgery and post-operative treatment is approximately Rs. 12 lakhs. Sinomon’s family is in dire need of financial assistance, since there are no other earning members.
Athulya Benny and family is in need of our financial assistance in completing her nursing course. Her father is working in a flour mill earning Rs.10,000 per month. Her mother Jessy has many health issues and the family had to spend a lot of money for her treatment. She also has a younger brother who is in school now. Athulya is studying at Universal College of Nursing at an annual fee of Rs. 1,20,000. They managed to pay the admission fee of Rs. 30,000 through donations from friends and well-wishers, but has no means of raising the rest
of the amount. The family has other loans, and also has to manage the continuous medical expenses for her mother. They approached MicroCharity for financial support in paying the college fee.
Bibin Mathew needs our help in completing his ITI Electrical course. His father is an auto-driver who also does some farming in their own land. He is not able to work regularly due to his ill-health, and earn only about Rs.5000 per month. His mother is a homemaker, and his sister is still in school. The family has no means to pay the ITI college fee of Rs.35,000 from the meager income of his father.
